William Altman has over 25 years of experience in building growth companies. Mr. Altman co-founded two firms which grew to over $50 million in revenues. He has also served on the boards of five growth companies, including a 7,000 employee NASDAQ listed company which increased its market capitalization from $0.5B to $1.5B during his tenure, when it was successfully sold for cash. Mr. Altman has raised $26 million in venture capital for his healthcare ventures. Mr. Altman is now President & CEO of CorInnova, Inc., a medical device company developing an innovative, non-blood contacting cardiac assist device to treat heart failure. Mr. Altman has raised $9 million at CorInnova from foundations, family offices and angel investors using innovative financing techniques. Previously, Mr. Altman served as President & CEO of Kardia Therapeutics, a regenerative medicine company engaged in developing adult cardiac stem cells for use in heart failure therapy. Mr. Altman co-founded FemPartners, a women's healthcare services firm that grew to over $50 million in patient revenues and 500 employees. As a former Senior Client Partner of Korn/Ferry Internation, Mr. Altman recruited outstanding senior management for venture-backed biotech firms and major healthcare systems. A former McKinsey & Company management consultant, Mr. Altman also did private equity investing as Senior Vice President of Capital Guidance Corporation. Mr. Altman is a native of New Ulm, Texas (pop. 500), where his 8th grade educated parents operated a gas station and a small farm. Mr. Altman attended a one-room school from grades one to three. He graduated as valedictorian from Columbus High School, earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, summa cum laude, an MA in Politics and Economics from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
