This event will cover the healthcare-wide problem of premature product failure for anything wiped down with today's caustic chemical disinfectants in a clinical environment. This problem affects hundreds of different products ranging from something as simple as wall-mounted soap dispensers to sophisticated devices like infusion pumps and everything in between. It's a huge issue which product owners need to address, but how? To make matters worse, published ESCR data is extremely limited. And even when data is available, the test setups and durations vary significantly and therefore can't be directly compared.

During this educational event we will briefly review the root causes of these failures and offer an unbiased technical review of medical materials which can be used to solve this new problem. Entec, a leading distributor of medical resins, has invested significant resources to generate unbiased and truly comparative ESCR testing data between dozens of opaque and transparent engineered resins to give product engineers and managers the straight answers and technical guidance needed to make an informed material decision to address this ESCR issue. We will review this testing data in detail and expect an active discussion to weigh the pros and cons of each resin type.
